About the animation
‘Melancholia: Faces of Emptiness’ is a new fulldome short by Joanna Saleta. It was created in the relatively short time of only two weeks and is based mainly on the visualization of emotions. The viewers travel through surrealistic spaces embodying, in a way, the feelings of loneliness, emptiness and desolation. The animation uses Unreal Engine 4 and it premiered on May 19th, during the Student Night at the Jena FullDome Festival. It was one of 33 works submitted to the Festival by students from all around the world.
In the previous edition of the Festival, Joanna Saleta’s animation The Shadow was awarded in the Performance Award category. More information can be found here.
