Second year students from the Game and Virtual Space Design course, Video Game Graphics specialization, visited the 2K’s Motion Capture studio in Brno, the Czech Republic. 2K is the company behind the legendary Mafia games. The students attended two lectures. Valentin Wirth (Lead Cutscene Editor) presented the issues connected with creating animated movie scenes. And Radim Pech (Lead Animator) presented the animation techniques used during the production of video games.
The students’ task would be to prepare a short movie scene (cutscene) or a sequence of motion which would be executed in Motion Capture during another visit to the studio.
Special thanks to Jakub Skoumal from 2K Studio for organizing the workshop and for his hospitality!
